SysMO-DB uses tools, resources and standards from the Systems Biology community wherever possible. This helps to promote standardisation within the consortium and also allows easier data export to other repositories when required.
The "Investigation, Study, Assay" structure in SysMO is derived from the ISA-TAB format from the ISA Infrastructure group .
We plan to use the ISA Converter tool to help reformat data to submit to public repositories.
JERM Templates are compliant with minimum information models from MIBBI
Access to biological ontologies is via the BioPortal Web Service

Semantic annotations can be used to define - among other things - the biochemical meaning of model elements. The tool semanticSBML is made to handle such annotations. It helps you to edit them and to check and merge your models.
