JWS Online aims to provide a service to the Systems Biology community by:
- giving access to a database of curated models of biological systems
- allowing the users to run these models in a web browser via an easy to use interface
- helping in reviewing of manuscripts containing kinetic models
- using systems biology standards and developing tools to adhere to these standards
JWS Online is integrated seamlessly into SEEK, the systems biology data management platform developed for the SysMO program.
In addition to this service role, JWS Online is an important component of an ambitious research initiative: The Silicon Cell. Here models are not "frozen" but are adapted as the study develops and stored with versioning. Models can be directly linked to experimental data.
