The SysMO-DB PALs (Project Area Liasons) are our user focus group. They are "front line" experimentalists, modellers and bioinformaticians from each of the SysMO projects who act as our advocates and communicate our progress back to their projects.
The SysMO consortium is very large, but by working with a small team of committed representatives, we can ascertain the requirements for each project and easily disseminate new material and reccommendations back to the wider community.
The SysMO-DB team works closely with the PALs on:
- requirements gathering and consultation
- reviewing of ideas and prototypes
- testing and reporting on solutions
- intelligence gathering from projects
Any new developments and software developed by SysMO-DB is tested by the PALs before being released to the SysMO Consortium. They shape our ideas and influence the direction of the project.
We hold regular PALs meetings, both All Hands meetings an UK and Continental chapter meetings.
For more information about the PALs and their activities, please see the SysMO-DB Wiki.
